Their intelligence was assessed using 11 different cognitive tests three times - at the age of 7, 11 and 16 years.
It was found attractive respondents significantly more intelligent than unattractive - their average IQ - 104,23, whereas unattractive individuals have a mean IQ of 91.81.
The gap between them - 12,42. Scientists say this is quite a big difference.
In this case, were found rather curious details: the average IQ of attractive women - 103.64, and unattractive - 92.25.
In men, these figures - 105.00 and 91.39 respectively. Consequently, the relationship between physical attractiveness and intelligence more marked among men.
