Proved: the food at the computer leads to excess weight
You often dine right at the monitor, still pounding on the keys? For you, alas, bad news.
Scientists have shown that food-service computer leads to the fact that you will want not just a snack on the same day.
Researchers at Bristol University studied the effect of memory and attention to our appetite.
One group of participants had to eat a meal consisting of 9 different food products, while expanding Solitaire Solitaire on the computer.
The second group had dinner, no matter what distractions.
At the end of dinner, it was found that participants in the first group did not experience a sense of complete saturation.
In addition, they could hardly remember the order in which they ate food.
Already half an hour later the participants who played computer games during meals, want to eat and were drawn to the liver and chocolate.
Scientists have stated that these results confirm: a distraction during a meal can lead to increased consumption of food in the same day.
Lead author Dr. Jeff Brenstrom said: "This work has expanded the number of facts in favor of our assumption that cognition, memory and attention, in particular, play a role in controlling appetite and the amount of food."
Previous studies have noted a similar effect in people who eat while watching TV.
